I used it on hikes on trails up to 2,000 meters above sea level, facing rain, wind, and, on one occasion, even snowfall. Under the shell, I\u00a0<strong>alternated between different layers,<\/strong>\u00a0from technical underwear to a second layer or a hybrid jacket, to assess its versatility. It is a three-layer laminate made from recycled polyester with a PFC-free DWR treatment. Despite this, the perceived quality of the product and Mammut&#8217;s responsible approach are evident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waterproofing and breathability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to its Mammut Dry Tour membrane, the Linard Guide HS Hooded is every bit as good as a Gore-Tex shell. During tests in the rain, even after around two hours of continuous use, I didn&#8217;t notice any leaks. The\u00a0<strong>internal comfort is supported by good breathability<\/strong>, declared by Mammut to be 20,000 g\/m\u00b2\/24h, and above all by the large ventilation zippers under the armpits, which are very effective during the climb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"601\" src=\"https:\/\/mountainreview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Mammut-Linard-Guide-05.jpg\" alt=\"mammut membrane\" class=\"wp-image-38590\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mountainreview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Mammut-Linard-Guide-05.jpg 800w, https:\/\/mountainreview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Mammut-Linard-Guide-05-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mountainreview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Mammut-Linard-Guide-05-768x577.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jacket also proved to be an excellent barrier against the wind, both on trails and on ridges. During more intense activities, I appreciated the ability to quickly adjust the ventilation to limit the accumulation of internal moisture, managing the microclimate in combination with appropriate layers. Overall, I was positively impressed by the performance of this\u00a0<strong>three-layer laminate<\/strong>, including how quickly it dried after use in the rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Features and details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jacket has a\u00a0<strong>single-way central zipper with PU<\/strong>\u00a0coating, two ventilation zippers under the armpits, and two lower pockets, also with PU-coated zippers. When wearing a backpack,\u00a0<strong>access to the lower pockets is less immediate\u00a0<\/strong>without loosening the waist belt.
